Staring out the window

I’m very lucky to be working near the Brisbane River.

Every day I spend a minute or two just watching it.

Over time I learned that the river changes in the same way the Ocean does. We just not notice it because the river does not have a very specific feature: nice, big, unmistakable waves! But just like the Ocean, the river has its mood and its surface changes a lot according to tides, winds and currents.

Few days ago it was one of those perfect, sunny winter morning, without a hint of wind.

I caught a glimpse of the river while perfectly still. Then the citycat approached and I knew what was going to happen. So I filmed it.

Water and waves. I can watch them for ever.

Sono grato di lavorare vicino al fiume Brisbane.

Tutti giorni, appena posso, mi soffermo a gardarlo per uno o due minuti.

Col tempo ho imparato che il fiume cambia faccia come il mare, solo e’ difficile accorgersene per via di qualcosa di specifico che il mare ha ed il fiume a prima vista non ha: le onde.

Ma come il mare, appunto, anche fiume mostra umori diversi e la sua superficie cambia a seconda delle maree, delle correnti e del vento.

Qualche giorno fa, durante una di queste perfette mattine invernali, ho visto il fiume perfettamente liscio. Mi sono ovviamente fermato ad ammirare la magia quando ho scorto il citycat arrivare. Sapevo cosa avrebbe creato e l’ho volute filmare.

Acque ed onde. Potrei stare a guardare per sempre.
