Honestly, it's disgusting.
And a lot of people on social media thought the same, flooding the organisers with messages of protests and hate.
The guys of the contest explained that gender discrimination had nothing to do with the money prize, and that it was calculated solely based on the number of inscriptions/participants in the male and female contest. With males outnumbering the female competitors.
While the explanation makes sense, I still wonder why there's such a distinction.
I agree on the fact that they should have 2 separate contests in order to give the female participants the same chance to win (not because of abilities, because of numbers and probabilities).
But why splitting the money prize of 1 category (Pro Junior) in 2 uneven fields?
Why making things so that you have a class A winner and a class B winner?
I'm not checking on google, but I bet it's all the same across all sports and all categories around the world.

Sinceramente anche io, se l'avessi vista per tempo, avrei provato disgusto per la differenza in premio al vincitore maschile e femminile. Verrebbe da vomitare.
Gli organizzatori della competizione, travolti dalle ire della gente sui social, si sono affrettati a spiegare che il premio e' dato dalla somma delle iscrizioni dei partecipanti. E poiche' c'erano, ed in generale ci sono iscritti piu' maschi che femmine, ecco data la differenza.
Una spiegazione apparentemente esauriente.
Se non fosse che, a mio parere, la foto con quelle cifre belle in mostra continua a farmi schifo.
Allora mi chiedo: perche' dividere le iscrizioni tra maschi e femmine? Mi sta bene che ci siano due gare distinte, perche' dato che i maschi son di piu', e' piu' probabile che vincano la maggior parte delle gare.
Ma la categoria Pro Junior e' una. Perche' non sommare tutte le iscrizioni e dividerle in parti uguali tra i vincitori?
Come puoi avere un vincitore che vale il doppio dell'altro?
Ora, senza neanche guardare su google, son convinto che questa discriminazione si applica a tutti gli sport, a tutti i livelli.
Ma questa non e' una giustificazione.
Sarebbe ora che le cose cambino.

Succede purtroppo molto spesso anche nella vita quotidiana non sono negli altri sport! Personalmente ho sempre lottato contro queste discriminazioni ma c’รจ ancora molta strada da fare....
